The final countdown! Less than ten days to go…

How we got to the 7th of May already is anyone’s guess, and though it means I missed the opportunity to have a ten day countdown (darn it), it also heralds the swift approach of Day 1 (happy dance)! This also means that a much more exciting counting is about to begin in the form of the 100 Days Project Scotland #dailycount which has become a bit of a tradition (can something become a tradition after only two years?)

For the last two years I have marked each day of the project with a number to help keep the community (and me) on track. In 2018 I made the mistake of including the word ‘Day’ in every picture, which meant I had to get quite inventive as time went on, and thanks to Eilidh Muldoon, I got 25 days off when she took over for a while (producing one of my top 5 favourite images on Day 36).

Last year I made it much easier for myself, in that each day I just had to find a number. This was much less restrictive, required less time commitment, easier to do each year…future proof, right?!

Now, in lockdown, I find myself with less opportunities to go off on all these number hunting adventures. So here’s where you wonderful lot come into it…

I am looking for help with the 100 Days Project Scotland Daily Count. I will be putting out four calls (of which this is the first) for individual numbers to populate the Instagram feed.

Prior to Day 1 on the 16th May I will need a selection of the best numbers 1 to 25 that you can find or create. Then the second call will be for the next 25 and so on.  You can send me one image, or you can send me several, it’s totally up to you. What I am hoping is that between us, we will have oodles of beautiful numbers to keep the community on track, and create a brilliant gallery of images in the process. We will soon discover if some numbers are digits popular than others!

The images will be selected for use on the social media feeds, with the creator tagged and pointing folk to their 100 Days Project if they have one. The numbers which are not selected will still be shared through a gallery on the website.

We will be doing something a bit different for Day 100 so keep your eyes peeled for this as the project progresses.

To submit an image, or images, please go to the Daily Count Form on the website.

I can’t wait to see all the numbers you find!
